Day 19: A Letter to Self
Dear me,
We made it through college! We met so many people and expanded our horizons. We showed what we were capable of and saw how unlimited our potential was. Though we still feel uncomfortable with the way we look and speak at times, we remember how far we’ve come. We built a community where we can help each other out and never feel alone.
Never forget where you came from because your path will open a way to girls like us who did not know English, whose cultural and moral values made them feel like they stuck out too much and wanted to assimilate to feel "normal.”
We aim to show them there is a way for anyone, regardless of where they come from. We will grow to help and inspire the people after us.
Remember your worth, stand straight, speak up, and look people in the eyes.
With love and four years in the future,
Fabi
