Mother-Daughter Writing Workshop
Somos Escritoras was founded as a Mother-Daughter Writing Workshop, and we continue to offer them every few years.
During these workshops, Mothers and their daughters meet once a week in the evening to write, share, and draw alongside each other.
The mothers and daughters also write and speak about their experiences as women and girls, mothers and daughters, and past and present students, and they support and advise each other.
New Year, New Me - Mother-Daugther Writing Workshop - Jan./ Feb. 2025
Somos Escritoras was invited to lead a four-week Mother-Daugheter workshop with the ConMiMadre organization. Mothers and daughters who are a part of the organization were invited to participate in writing alongside their daughters and learn from their peers through art and writing.
Mother-Daugther Writing Workshop- Virtual Summer 2020
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Somos Escritoras lead a virtual version of our Mother-Daughter Writing Workshops. Somos Escritoras Alumni and their mothers, joined us online to connect and share stories about our hopes, dreams and resilience.
Mother-Daugther - Spring 2018 - Con Mi Madre
In 2018, Somos Escritoras teamed up with the Mothers and Daughters of Con Mi Madre. This special workshop brought together an established group of mothers and daughters to connect at a new level with the parts of our program that get participants to examine their life, wisdom, and strength that we share through our writing and the re-telling of our stories.
